It’s the last month before school begins so when saying “goodbye” to summer, why not say “hello” to a fresh look for your kid’s room? A simple, but high-impact item to add to your son or daughter’s room is a roman shade like the two featured in this month’s newsletter.

The image below shows a custom roman shade for a young girl’s bedroom. The main fabric in this treatment is a vintage chenille bedspread we found with a fringe to serve as the “trim.” The final touch was selecting a solid-colored banding fabric to place behind the fringe. We also designed this shade to “swag” at the bottom for a more stylized look. Because this treatment is primarily decorative, we added a simple roller shade for functionality. Christine Haught, Ltd. The photo on the left is a roman shade designed for a young boy’s bedroom window. This treatment follows the same concept by utilizing a main fabric, banding fabric and trim. In this instance, though, the banding fabric was constructed from an old pair of his mom’s black jeans. By using a material you already have, you can still have a custom look and perhaps simultaneously incorporate something of sentimental value. Hopefully, this boy feels inspired to travel because of our design. Please contact us today so we can get started on your child’s room!
